While the title of this post was meant to be incendiary, it was not meant to be careless. Why is Equality Virginia racist? Because being Gay is racist. Now don’t miss understand me. I am not saying that by engaging in homosexual activity that you are committing an act of racism. That would be silly.

The problem centers around visibility. You see organizations like Equality Virginia and the Human Rights Campaign view the issue of the role of homosexuals in society to be one of Civil Rights. The only problem is that being Gay is not anything like being Black. Think about it just for a second. It’s terribly ignorant and disrespectful to equate the two. The Equal Rights Campaign relies on a false sense of affinity. One that was woefully exposed in the Prop 8 debacle. Not to mention the Obama vs. Hilary split during the election.

Take this very crude example: If you take your average prejudiced person to a line up of any group of people and then ask him to point point out which one is the Faggot and which one is the Nigger. He is not going be sure which one is the Faggot, but he’ll be damn sure which one is the Nigger.

Oxford scholars are quite tired of making the world a better place.

At the end of the day, I personally was beginning to think that age-old institutions like Oxford were struggling for relevancy in the face of all of this new technology. But, at this moment in time, the PhD s really pulled it together for this one. With all due respect, I was beginning to think I’d never figure out what was so annoying about all of my classmates 24/7. It’s absolutely a nightmare having to turn on the TV or read a magazine to figure out how popular culture is going to screw up the English language next! It’s not rocket science, but I’d still rather leave it up to the intellectual elites to determine how use their vast resources for the sake of all good English speakers.
